Bishop Jeff Poole

In 1997, Feed the City was created by Bishop Jeff Poole.  Feed the City began as a solution to a local food bank clients specific need for a Thanksgiving meal.  Out of his compassion to serve the community, Poole decided to get a basket of food with specific items for a Thanksgiving meal. During its 1st year, Feed the City distributed about a dozen baskets to local families. Each year, Feed the City's vision and reach has significantly grown. Now an annual community - wide Thanksgiving tradition, Feed the City has fed more than 110,000 people.

The heartbeat of Feed the City is for families in our community, to have a Thanksgiving meal to share with their family. Our partners such as local churches, schools, businesses and community organizations assist by collecting items for the meal and distributing them to the community the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This yearly commitment has continued the vision of Poole to ensure everyone in need has a Thanksgiving meal for the holidays.
